PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To investigate differential character accompanying standard change of JIS in the document data of an end user, and to exhibit investigation result to the end user. PSOLUTION: In this difference character investigation system, an exhibitor terminal 10 for registering the document data and an exhibitor server 20 for registering difference character information accompanying the standard change of JIS in a difference character database 30 are connected. The exhibitor server 20 has a character code collation means for receiving the document data from the exhibitor terminal 10, and collating a character code inside the document data and a character code of the difference character information; and a difference character information transmission means for transmitting the according difference character information to the terminal device 10 as the investigation result, when the collation result obtained by the collation by the character code collation means shows matching.
