PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To group a plurality of topic words and extract a representative word of each group.;SOLUTION: When topic words and document information related to the topic words are read in, degrees of document sharing between documents related to each topic word and documents related to the other topic words are calculated by topic word association rules stored in a topic word association storage means, associable topic words are selected according to the degrees of document sharing, the selected topic words are associated into topic word groups with the degrees of document sharing, and representative words of the topic word groups associated in the topic word association step are extracted by representative word extraction rules.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
