PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an advantageous method for producing an optically active compound useful as a synthetic intermediate of a medicine or the like by developing a new nonmetallic asymmetric catalyst capable of achieving high-yield and highly stereoselective asymmetric reaction. PSOLUTION: The amino acid derivative is represented by general formula (I) [wherein, RSP1/SPis an aryl group which may have a substituent, a group represented by the formula: -COSB2/SBRSP4/SP(wherein, RSP4/SPis a hydrogen atom or the like) or the like; and RSP2/SPand RSP3/SPare the same or different and each a hydrogen atom or the like].
