PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform simple and rapid alignment during coupling of an excavation body piece with a running truck fixed by a method wherein the excavation body piece is conveyed to a driving position right below a drive part by a conveying truck and coupled to the drive part or the drive part and a driven excavation body piece. ;SOLUTION: An extension piece 6a2 is placed on a conveying truck 16 waiting in a temporary placing position B. A drive part 5 is then raised and the truck 16 is moved to a driving position B and coupled to the drive part 5. After the truck 16 is returned to a temporary placing position, the drive part 5 is lowered and the extension piece 6a2 is coupled to a driven piece 6a1 at a topmost stage. Consecutively, excavation operation is effected and a piece coupled body is lowered. Through repetition of the operation described above, an excavation body is driven down to a given depth in a ground simultaneously with assembly of an excavating body. This constitution simplifies and besides performs careful and accurate regulation of the position of the piece 6a2 by the truck 16.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
