PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform grinding of a thread groove from its rough grinding to finish grinding by a single process. ;SOLUTION: This device has a grinding wheel 1 provided with a plurality of mountain-shaped protrusions 7, which must grind thread grooves 6 in the periphery, in the axial direction with a prescribed space and a helical feed mechanism 2 helically feeding in the axial direction while rotating a material 3, it is helically fed by the helical feed mechanism 2. In this way, the helical grove parts ground by the mountain-shaped protrusions in a front step of the grinding wheel 1 are successively ground by the mountain-shaped protrusions in a rear step, so as to coaxially perform grinding of the screw grooves 6 from its rough grinding to finish grinding.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
