PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an examination method and an examination drug which are useful in diagnosis of rectal cancer and adenoma of the large intestine, and by which a patient suffering from the cancer and a patient having a degree of risk of suffering from the cancer of the large intestine can be detected.;SOLUTION: It has been revealed that a remarkable difference in distribution of isozyme for a sugar chain sulfated enzyme GlcNAc-6-sulfuric acid group transferase is found between non-cancerous tissues of the large intestine, and cancerous tissues and a adenoma tissue of the large intestine, and that the GlcNAc-6-sulfated sugar chain groups within a certain range are detected from the patient's tissues and fecal specimens by applying this difference, so that the rectal cancer and adenoma of the large intestine can be detected specifically. When using an MECA-79 antibody (manufactured by a company) which reacts with a GlcNAc-6-suflated sugar chain generated specifically by an enzyme present in the rectal cancer and adenoma of the large intestine, the examination of cancer and adenoma of the large intestine can be conducted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
