PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade the generation of the defect in adhesion for coating materials and films in the vicinity of the weld zone at the time of applying a surface treated steel sheet for a vessel as the material laminated with organic films on the inside face and/or outside face of a can and to produce a steel sheet for a welded can satisfying all of weldability, corrosion resistance, appearance and adhesion for coating materials. ;SOLUTION: An Fe-Ni alloy plating layer of 50 to 800mg/m2 coating weight contg. 5 to 55% Ni is formed on the surface of a steel sheet, and a hydroxide layer is formed on the surface. Next, an Sn plating layer of 400 to 2,500mg/m2 coating weight is formed on the surface, which is thereafter subjected to hot dip tinning treatment, and subsequently, on the topmost surface layer, a chromate coating layer is formed by 2 to 40mg/m2 coating weight expressed in terms of Cr. Thus, the steel sheet for a welded can excellent in weldability, corrosion resistance, appearance and adhesion can be produced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
