PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively apply image processing based on supplementary informa tion to original data by annexing the supplementary information such as the photographic condition of the original data to the original data without losing them. SOLUTION: The photographic condition in acquiring original image data S0 is deeply encoded as supplementary information H and embedded in the original image data S0. A reading means 1 reads the image data S0 and a supplementary information reading mans 2 reads the supplementary information H out of the image data S0. Based on the photographic condition or the like contained in the supplementary information H, a processing means 3 performs image processing to the image data S0 to obtain the processed image data S1.
