PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a practical material for suppressing the growth of weeds in a paddy field, capable of effectively suppressing the growth of the paddy field weeds by shading the sun light, and capable of increasing the temperature of water of the paddy field, and further to provide a method of preventing the weeds in the paddy field from growing by using the material. ;SOLUTION: This material for suppressing the growth of weeds in paddy field is composed of a black aqueous dispersion containing (A) black carbonaceous fine particles in dispersed states and (B) a water extract of rice bran and/or rape seed oil lees as essential components. The method for suppressing the weeds of the paddy field comprises adding the material for suppressing the emergency of the weeds of the paddy field to the water in the paddy field so that the concentration of the black carbonaceous fine particles may be 5-100 ppm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
