"METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REDUCING OVERLOAD IN A TIME DIVISION MULTIPLEXING COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (TDM); AND METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REPORTING DIRECT AND REVERSAL LINKING COMMUNICATION (TDM)" . These are parallel demodulators that are provided in the field units (15-1 ... 15-h). Forward (40) and reverse (50) channel allocation information may be broadcast to field units (151 ... 15-h) at the same time as traffic data, but on the first and second channels, such as paging and traffic channels. This ensures that field units (15-1 ... 15h) can receive direct (40) and reverse (50) channel allocation information every period. Obtaining demodulators in the field unit (15-1 ... 15h) avoids switching between the first and second channels and channel allocation information is not lost.
