The present invention provides technologies, including the use of genetically modified (GM) tobacco, for developing and producing products with consumer-friendly properties according to the Product Reliability Assessment Program (PREP), covering the following: 1) making cigarettes with a low tar / nicotine ratio , which allows smokers to get the required amount of nicotine more efficiently than regular cigarettes, by reducing the total amount of smoke and, accordingly, reducing the "compensation" of smoking th, which exists in the use of ordinary cigarettes in low yield; 2) reducing the level of harmful specific nitrosamines of tobacco in tobacco products by genetic means and by extracting nicotine from tobacco and combining it with genetically modified tobacco with a reduced nicotine content; 3) obtaining improved bulk tobacco using genetically modified tobacco with a high content of nicotine; and 4) the production of reconstituted tobacco, which includes any combination of the following: genetically modified tobacco with a high nicotine content, genetically modified tobacco with a reduced nicotine content, leaf tobacco fractions, and freshly harvested sublimation-dried tobacco.
