Method for investigating an area with respect to the presence / absence of a predetermined multi-phase fluidic system in the underground subsoil, comprising the steps of: - Monitoring the mechanical and / or electromagnetic signals emanating from the underground subsoil of an investigated area; - Analyze these signals by means of a nonlinear time series analysis; - Compare the result of said analysis with the result of an equal analysis of signals emanating from the underground subsoil of at least one area with the known presence of said multi-phase fluidic system; - Identify the presence or absence of said multi-phase fluidic system in said investigated area through the result of said comparison.
