It is intended to provide a DNA oligomer, a gene marker, a DNA oligomer set (a primer set for PCR) and a DNA oligomer (a primer for extension) whereby the risk of the onset of a side effect in a radiotherapy for cancer can be predicted by judging whether a specific base in a DNA base sequence is a risk allele or a non-risk allele; and a method of predicting the onset of a side effect in a radiotherapy. The above-described DNA oligomer for predicting the onset of a side effect in a radiotherapy has a DNA sequence having at least 10 to 241 consecutive bases including the base at the 121-position in a DNA base sequence represented by any one of SEQ ID NOS:1 to 173 in Sequence Listing.
