Method of making a semi-finished composite product consisting of copper alloy and use of the semi-finished product

The method for producing a blank with at least one core zone and a surrounding zone out of a precipitatable copper alloy involves annealing of the alloy at high temperatures in an oxidizing atmosphere, cooling and/or further treatment for formation of a precipitation phase, and removal of an outer coating before final forming operations. Independent claims are also included for: (A) a a resultant blank; (B) applications of the resultant blank in the form of plug connectors, contact elements and wires.
