A novel CAOXR1 gene is provided to promote detection of plant disease resistance and development of resistant species by providing a method for determining the defense reaction of plants caused by plant pathogenic bacteria and chemical materials. The CAOXR1 gene encoding plant disease resistance protein derived from Capsicum annum L. cv. Hanbyul includes a nucleotide sequence described as SEQ ID : NO. 1. The method for detecting plant disease resistance comprises the steps of: (a) after isolating RNA from pepper plant inoculated or treated with pathogenic bacteria or chemical materials and electrophoresing the isolated RNA, transitioning it to hybond N+; and (b) reacting the RNA of the step(a) with the CAOXR1 gene probe treated with P^32 to identify differential expression of the CAOXR1.
