Valve operating mechanism has a camshaft (1), on which a cam carrier (2) is arranged, which is torque proof and axially adjustable. A camshaft is supported by a bearing block (3) enclosing a cam carrier. On both sides of the bearing block a thrust bearing impact surface (3.2) is formed.
