Friction compensation method for use in electromechanical steering gear, involves triggering additional moment for friction, during detection of rotating motion, such that moment is adjusted in threshold direction with reverse sign
The method involves measuring auxiliary moment that is induced in a rotation direction of an electrical engine. Additional moment for friction is triggered during the detection of rotating motion in such a manner that the moment is increased during the engine movement up to a preset threshold and adjusted in the direction of threshold with reverse sign during the reversal of the rotation direction of the engine. An independent claim is also included for an electromechanical steering gear for compensation of friction.
