A method for protecting the climate by the environmentally friendly net production of oxygen in the case of simultaneous net consumption of carbon dioxide under use of microalgae in zones of the moderate climate by means of photosynthesis, characterized by the creation of the following prerequisites:• the micro-algae are used together with water and salts, in basins attached as cultures,• the exhaust gas is - co beet-chip fodder₂ for ph - value - control, is fed to a,• the cultures is continuously a certain amount of sodium hydrogencarbonate (nahco.sub.3₃) and a defined amount of liquid manure is supplied as a nutrient,• the cultures are heated to an optimal temperature and held at this,• the cultures are under the influence of light is exposed to a certain light intensity,• by their growth excess microalgae harvested are regularly.
