The unit has a display unit to display a relative position of an agricultural machine with respect to a border line (17). The unit is designed, such that the border line (17) is detected between machined and unmachined bases (19, 21) of the machine. The unit has three sensors (3, 5, 7) that are arranged in series, such that the sensors (3, 7) of machined and unmachined bases are detected after a rough positioning of the machine. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an agricultural machine e.g. seed drill or sowing machine (B) a method of detecting a border line between a machined base and an unmachined base of an agricultural machine.
