The shaft cover has a framework (12) formed from profile sections (18). The framework has an open U-profile part (28) circulating inside the framework for the mutual mounting of grating (14) and webbing (16). The U-profile part has a protruding vertical bar (32) as edge mounting in the installation condition beside the support section (22) in the shaft trough (24) for grating and webbing.
