The metal braided hose (1) is for fitting on the outer side of an elastomer hose. A protective sleeve consisting of a hollow cylinder-form inner first bush (9) and hollow cylinder-form outer second bush (4) is installed on the ends of the metal braided hose. The first and second bushes are interconnected and positively locked, through which the end of the metal braided hose is installed between the first and second bush so that the metal braided hose is gripped at its first end by the first bush and by the second bush. An independent claim is included for a method for the manufacture of a metal braided hose for fitting on the outer side of an elastomer hose.
