The system has an ultraviolet or infrared laser emitter that provides a highly energized laser beam (2) for igniting air/fuel mixture (3). An optical fiber is arranged for guiding the energized laser beam to a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. A light-window is attached at the combustion chamber and is coupled with the optical fiber. A cross point is arranged for controlling distribution of the laser beam.
