The drive has a stator with a magnetic circuit with two air gaps (L1, L2), and two U or E-shaped yokes (1, 1a) to support two field coils (6, 6a), which energizes the magnetic circuit. The poles of the yokes together form the air gaps between the yokes and a part of a rotor comprising permanent magnets is arranged between the air gaps. A flux conducting component is arranged between the magnets and fixedly arranged in the stator. An independent claim is also included for an actuator comprising an electromagnetic drive and actuating a valve of a combustion engine or a compressor.
