The volume tomography system with an image-forming system has a holder (7) upon which is fastened an adapter (8) with a nip plate (10) in such a way that the nip plate and also a reference point formed on the nip plate have a predetermined and/or an accurately defined position and/or orientation with regard to the axes (SA) of the image-forming system (5). A graduation is provided on the nip plate by which the position of each area on the nip plate is accurately defined relative to the reference point. An independent claim is included for a nip plate for use in a volume tomography system with an image-forming system.
