Plug connector has an electrically conducting contact plate (1) seated at ignition coil side end of a secondary spool (2) and encloses a secondary coil winding ends. A connecting plug unit (8) sits between the contact plate and a high voltage terminal of a plug connector and mates the contact plate and the high voltage terminal. A radial recess is in a front side of the spool for the contact plate.
