The machine has a third mowing and collection assembly (44) arranged in front of the spandrel area (42) which is between first and second mowing and collection assembly (22,32). The third mowing and collection assembly cuts the harvested crop running in the neighborhood of the longitudinal central plane (20) and assigns it to the first or second mowing and collection assembly. The cut harvested crop is conveyed by the first or second mowing and collection assembly to the inlet channel (12) of the forage harvester.
