The module has a microcontroller (20) with a processor (22) and a memory, which contains stored data that are specific for the module and/or a user. An interface (34) receives input data e.g. password, from an input device (12). Another interface (36) communicates with a computer (14). The input data from the interface (34) are processed using the individual data and without transmitting of data to other interface in operation mode. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a safety module.
