Bank note separation checking method, involves completing separation of bank note on existence of note, if consistency between two portraits is high, and completing separation during lower consistency on existence of more than one note

The method involves producing three portraits (20`, 30`, 40`) of a bank note (BN) and combining the portraits (20`, 30`) into a combined portrait (10`). The portrait (40`) is compared in consistence with the portrait (10`). Separation of the note is completed on existence of the note, if the consistency between the portraits (10`, 40`) is high. The separation is completed during lower consistency on the existence of more than one note. An independent claim is also included for a device for checking separation of a bank note.
