Treating waste waters to prevent odors and corrosion in pressurized wastewater pipelines for centralized treatment plants, induces nitrification and adds oxygen

The water is pretreated in respect of odor content and tendency to cause corrosion. This is achieved by immobilized nitrification agents with simultaneous aeration using oxygen or oxygen-containing gas mixtures. Pretreatment takes place in the inlet sump (PS) of the pumping plant ahead of the pressurized pipeline (DL). It alternatively takes place in a collection vessel, or directly in the pipeline itself.
