The thin layer floor for a building has two lightweight concrete deck layers (1,2) in a sandwich construction with projections into the supporting wall (5) and a foam core (3). Alternatively, there can be two metal sheets perforated at their ends and glued to a core, and with openings for lifting flanges. The metal layers are outwardly faced with concrete or plasterboard panels.
