Blue to yellow orange emitting phosphor substances (I) of orthosilicate class, comprises a composition; and exhibits a stiochiometric equation. Blue to yellow orange emitting phosphor substances (I) of orthosilicate class, comprises a composition of formula (EA 2SiO 4:D); and exhibits a stiochiometric equation of EA 2-x-aSE xEu aSiO 4-xNx, where a small portion of x in EAO is replaced by SEN. EA : Sr, Ba, Ca and/or Mg; D : activating dopant of Eu; and SE : rare earthmetal. Independent claims are included for: (1) a light source with a primary radiation source, exhibits the radiation within the short-wave range of optical spectral region in the wavelength of 140-480 nm, where the radiation converts first phosphor into secondary longer-wave radiation partially or completely in the visible spectral region; and (2) the preparation of (I) with high efficiency.
