The method involves using an adapter that is connected to the tractor head by a frame connection part and to the add-on chassis by a chassis connection part. The adapter is integrated into the chassis of the tractor head during manufacture of the tractor head and the frame connection part forms a component of a longitudinal bearer of the chassis.
