The device has a reading unit e.g. identification reader, microprocessor and an internal energy storage, where the device is implemented as a universal serial bus (USB) stick. The energy storage is arranged in a detachable cover of the universal serial bus stick. A real time clock is assigned to the microprocessor of the universal serial bus stick. The energy storage is charged by a universal serial bus interface. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for collecting and transmitting of identification characteristics.
