The invention concerns a novel method for preparing latex by emulsion (co)polymerisation of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, wherein the direct inline monitoring is carried out by Raman spectroscopy. The invention also concerns latex compositions obtainable by the emulsion (co) polymerisation method whereof the direct inline monitoring is performed by Raman spectroscopy. The invention further concerns a device for implementing said method, said device comprising a reactor, at least an optical probe, a Raman spectrometer, optical fibres, a computer and a regulating automaton.
