The device has flaps (10, 12) projecting on a side of a bumper face bar part (2) that is directed towards a bumper face bar spacer (4). The flaps are arranged in housings of the spacer till a region (17) of the part (2) and are stopped against a side of the spacer with respect to the part (2). A screw (5) moves the flaps away for expanding them in the housings. The screw is screwed from a free end of the flaps. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle bumper face bar.
