The method involves applying a wavelet transform to a pressure measurement signal for obtaining a decomposition of the signal into a set of transformed signals. Non-linear thresholding functions (NL1-NL4) are applied to each of the transformed signals for obtaining another set of transformed signals. An inverse wavelet transform is applied to each of the latter transformed signals for reconstructing a filtered pressure signal. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an internal combustion engine.
