The device has a mirror (2) orienting at a specific angle with respect to a pattern cavity (8) of a punch (1) and reflecting a image returned from the punch across a magnifier (4) placed at the same angle of incidence of the mirror. A light emitting diode illuminates the pattern cavity. A plate supporting the mirror and the magnifier is integrated with V blocks and a stop.
