The method involves inserting a reinforcement arch (4) under a reinforced concrete shell (1), longitudinally at certain interval from the shell. Hydraulic jacks (7) are disposed, circumferentially at certain interval along the shell, between the arch and the shell. Thickness of the jacks is adjusted for locally exerting a preset force between the arch and the shell such that the arch takes a part of load supported by the shell. An independent claim is also included for a reinforced concrete shell.
