A method for determining whether a word from a text entry is incorrectly placed therein, the method comprising the steps of: identifying (320) a phrase in the text entry; identifying (325) a cue word in the phrase; determining an inflection of the cue word; selecting (330) an order rule from among several order rules based on the determined inflection of the cue word; and checking (340) if any of the words in the text entry are in an incorrect position relative to the selected order rule. The invention also relates to a grammar checker configured to implement this method, as well as a computer-readable medium containing instructions allowing the execution of the steps of the method.
