The apparatus has a contactless read and write device (26) with an antenna (36), adapted to emit a request signal in a repeated manner to detect the emission of an acknowledged receipt signal by a ticket in response to the request signal. The device is adapted to control driving rollers so as to bring the ticket from a determined distance with respect to the device before the start of a programming phase of the ticket. An independent claim is also included for a positioning process for a contactless ticket distribution apparatus.
