The detector has a case (102) inside which an associated electronic is placed. An acoustic pressure sensor (106) is suspended at an end of a tube (104) for making a flexible mechanical connection, and is immersed in water in a swimming pool to receive noise propagating in water. The sensor converts the noise into signals that are then transmitted to the electronic, which generate an alarm signal during fall of a body in the pool.
