The chain has a chain hoop closed by a closing and tensioning device including a case (10) and a connecting part (13) connected to respective zones of the hoop. An extended elastic rubber strand (15) is fixed to respective ends (16, 17) of the case and part. The case forms a handle constituted of two semi handles separated by a separation line which passes through a duct (18) housing the strand.
