The station has a compensation inductor (17) that compensates homopolar capacitive current generated by a section of a medium voltage network, during a defect between a phase and the ground situated on the network. A magnetic casing is disposed around the inductor that is isolated in mineral oil by placing in an oil bath of a medium voltage/low voltage transformer (18) comprising medium voltage and low voltage windings (19, 20). An independent claim is also included for a medium voltage electrical network comprising a medium voltage/low voltage transforming station.
