The installation has primary and secondary cylinders of which the secondary cylinder has a braking ring (7) cooperating with a piston rod (2) of the secondary cylinder. The ring housed in an annular groove (1b) of the cylinder body has operation modes with a reduced braking force and generates a braking force opposing a displacement direction of the rod. Inner and exterior radial segments (7a, 7b) of the ring are connected with each other by a film forming a hinge.
