The method involves transferring security data in a removable subscriber identity module (40) and non sensible data from a terminal (29) to another terminal that is adapted to cooperate with the module. The module is connected to the latter terminal for exploiting the digital content rights in the latter terminal. The security data have a right identifier, a content identifier, a content decoding key and date information. An independent claim is also included for a mobile telecommunication terminal adapted to receive digital content protected by usage rights.
