A method of digitally processing data for use in representing an image, comprising scaling edge data relating to edges in at least one colour adjusted component of the image using unadjusted data relating to a colour-unadjusted component of the image, and a device operable in accordance with the method. The application also more narrowly independently claims that the image components represent lower frequency and higher frequency components and the higher frequency component is scaled using edge data determined from the lower frequency image component in order to transform the higher frequency component to a new colour space. The lower frequency component is also transformed to the new colour space and the scaled high frequency component and the transformed low frequency component are then combined to produce an output image in the new colour space.
