PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a method for judgment of presence or absence of reading of a density of a foreign object capable of adequately carrying out a process for judging whether or not the density of the foreign object is read.;SOLUTION: There is disclosed the method for judging presence or absence of reading of a density of a foreign object wherein when a density of a test pattern printed on a medium by a prescribed density is read by means of a reading section, it is judged whether or not the density of the foreign object on the test pattern is read. The method comprises a step of detecting a portion on the test pattern where a magnitude of a deviation of the read value of the density with respect to a prescribed reference value exceeds a prescribed threshold for a density deviation and a step of judging whether or not the density of the foreign object is read from the detected magnitude of the portion.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
