PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for suppressing temperature rise in a surface of a paved road by dispersing and applying it onto a surface of an existing paved road, and to provide a method for suppressing the temperature rise in the surface of the paved road.;SOLUTION: The composition for suppressing the temperature rise in the surface of the paved road includes at least a water-retentive high polymer compound and the water. A preferable lower limit critical melting temperature to water of the water-retentive high polymer compound is 20-60°C. For example, a polymer including an N-alkyl(meth)acrylamide as a constituting monomer can be used. The temperature rise in the surface of the paved road is highly efficiently and continuously suppressed, while maintaining and without disturbing the physical characteristics like the slipping property, the form of the surface, the color, the visibility, etc. held by the surface of the paved road by nature, at a low cost and in an easy process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
