PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide alumina particles usable as a filler for a thermoplastic resin, and to provide a thermoplastic resin composition having various improved properties such as strength, modulus of elasticity and heat resistance.;SOLUTION: When the alumina particles are modified by bringing the alumina particle into contact with an organic compound, the alumina particles are brought into contact with the organic compound within a temperature range of 100-400C, whereby the surface active groups of the alumina particles are satisfactorily deactivated so as to exert the effect as a filler when it is compounded in the predetermined thermoplastic resin, and thus a thermoplastic resin composition having various improved properties such as strength, modulus of elasticity and heat resistance can be obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
