PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process a medical image as an object of trace reading which is referred to in finding content so as to exactly and clearly convey to someone by a simple operation in preparing a trace-reading report of the medical image. PSOLUTION: A link corresponding range is identified in a string arranged in a finding section of a medical report display screen (S15). Content is specified, and is dragged and dropped onto a part in which the link corresponding range is displayed (S16). When the string is specified, address information on the content is attached (S17-S19). At the same time, the string in the link corresponding range is identified and displayed (S20). The apparatus subsequently determines whether or not to display information related to linked reference content (S21). If a display instruction is given, a protocol that allows the related information to be automatically acquired and displayed is embedded in a hyperlink (S22). When report preparation is completed, a file is saved to finish a series of processes, and the file is then transferred to, for example, a trace-reading report preparation requester.
